PASQuanS2.1 Community Gathers in Heidelberg for Second-Year Meeting
The PASQuanS2.1 consortium met in Heidelberg, Germany, from April 3-4 to mark the project’s second year. The event took place at the University of Heidelberg and brought together researchers and collaborators from across Europe.
The meeting began with a welcome from Immanuel Bloch and Selim Jochim, followed by updates from the different work packages. Each team shared what they had been working on, what’s going well, and what still needs more time or support. Presentations covered everything from project management and hardware development to software architecture and end-user applications.
A poster session filled the final part of the first day. Early-career researchers had a chance to show their work and speak with attendees in a more informal setting. At the same time, members of the Scientific Advisory Board and the executive committee held their own meeting to reflect on progress and planning.
The second day continued with more updates and breakout sessions. Smaller groups focused on specific work packages, allowing for more technical discussion. One session looked ahead to the next phase of PASQuanS2, where speakers raised ideas about where the field might be going in the next decade and how the project could stay relevant and impactful.
Before wrapping up, participants joined guided lab tours to see some of the research infrastructure that supports the project’s work.
The Heidelberg meeting gave the PASQuanS2.1 team a chance to reflect on how far they’ve come, and to lay the groundwork for the year ahead.
