Join the Quantum Information and Matter Group: Software Developer Position Available

The Quantum Information and Matter Group at the University of Padova is seeking a Software Developer for Quantum Technologies. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum research and development.

The position is based in Padova, Italy, and offers an initial contract duration of two years, with the possibility of extension for up to five years. The application deadline is April 30, 2025.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the Quantum Tensor Network Emulator Applications codebase
  • Collaborate on original research in quantum physics
  • Lead development workflows and maintain the tooling environment
  • Integrate code for HPC clusters with multi-node and multi-GPU computation capabilities

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python and NumPy; familiarity with C++ and CUDA is a plus
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and parallel computing (MPI, GPU via Python APIs)
  • Familiarity with build and code development workflows
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field
