Institut d’Optique Théorique et Appliquée
The Institut d’Optique (IOTA) is a research and higher education specializing in optics, photonics and atomic physics. It has a long tradition of high-level research in quantum optics, AMO physics and quantum simulation. In addition, the Institut d’Optique is part of the Université Paris Saclay, a very large scientific campus. It is the core of the first science and technology cluster in France, which includes numerous research facilities, graduate schools, world-leading companies and innovative start-up businesses, where all the areas of science are represented.
Role within PASQuanS 2
The IOTA team pioneered the Rydberg array quantum simulation platform, it will conduct quantum simulation experiments where exact classical numerical simulations become intractable. It will in addition explore new preparation methods extending the Rydberg toolbox by employing multi-electron atoms.
